{"id":5410,"date":"2017-05-12T02:20:35","date_gmt":"2017-05-12T02:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/georgiawasp.com\/?p=5410"},"modified":"2017-05-31T02:57:33","modified_gmt":"2017-05-31T02:57:33","slug":"from-11816-hell-be-impeached-within-two-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/georgiawasp.com\/?p=5410","title":{"rendered":"From 11\/8\/16:  &#8220;He&#8217;ll be impeached within two years&#8230;&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"http:\/\/assets.nydailynews.com\/polopoly_fs\/1.3099433.1493144157!\/img\/httpImage\/image.jpg_gen\/derivatives\/article_750\/trump.jpg\" alt=\"President Trump's first 100 days make it seem like he might not make it through his first term.\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Does this look like the face of a president about to be impeached &#8230; within two years or otherwise???<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">* \u00a0 * \u00a0 * \u00a0 *<\/p>\n<h1><\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.0-9\/18034012_298730440561067_5363034777737737313_n.jpg?oh=f451a829751e0008685bb99ef4798de1&amp;oe=59C05A0F\" alt=\"Image may contain: one or more people\" width=\"184\" height=\"138\" \/>My last post was on March 22. \u00a0Since then, aside from a &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/georgiawasp.com\/?p=6116\">pain in the back<\/a>,&#8221; I&#8217;ve undergone some other\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stress_(psychological)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">big \u00a0life events<\/a>\u00a0including but not limited to a surgery &#8211; like the one at right &#8211; to have a lens put back in one eye. \u00a0<em>(See\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/georgiawasp.com\/?p=6063\">On that nail in my right eye<\/a>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But now things have calmed down a bit, even if only in my own life. \u00a0Which means I can get back to\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">blogging<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And speaking of stress: \u00a0<strong><em>How about that Donald Trump?\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On that note, here are some recent predictions that &#8220;<a class=\"find\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/arts-and-entertainment\/wp\/2015\/09\/01\/why-does-everyone-call-donald-trump-the-donald-its-an-interesting-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">the Donald<\/a>&#8221; will end up impeached.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.propublica.org\/images\/ngen\/gypsy_big_image\/20161213-trump-emoluments-630x420.jpg?resize=1400%2C9999&amp;ssl=1\" width=\"174\" height=\"116\" \/>Two are from &#8220;one day ago,&#8221; as of May 9, 2017. \u00a0One said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malialitman.com\/2017\/05\/08\/attorneys-explain-why-trump-must-be-impeached\/\" target=\"_blank\">Attorneys Explain Why Trump Must Be Impeached!<\/a>\u00a0<em> (Which included the image at left.) \u00a0<\/em>The second said, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/video\/animals\/2-men-pass-away-happy-after-believing-president-donald-trump-was-impeached\/vp-BBASZzx\" target=\"_blank\">2 Men Pass Away Happy After Believing &#8230; Donald Trump Was Impeached<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Two people who recently passed away were led to believe President Trump was impeached. Corliss Gilchrist, of Iowa, was told by a loved one that &#8220;Trump&#8217;s impeachment process had begun so he would rest in peace,&#8221; according to Gilchrist&#8217;s obituary. \u00a0Gilchrist was a few days from turning 92 years old. \u00a0In Oregon, relatives say Michael Elliott, 75, passed away peacefully last month as soon as he was told Trump had been impeached.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The third one &#8211; from April 29, 2017 &#8211; said this: \u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/politics\/100-days-trump-impeachment-safe-bet-article-1.3099439\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">After first 100 days, Trump impeachment seems like a safe bet<\/a>. \u00a0That was from the\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Daily_News_(New_York)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">New York Daily News<\/a>, which &#8211; by the way &#8211; endorsed\u00a0<a title=\"George W. Bush\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/George_W._Bush\">George W. Bush<\/a>\u00a0for president in\u00a0<a title=\"United States presidential election, 2004\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_presidential_election,_2004\">2004<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Barack Obama\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barack_Obama\">Barack Obama<\/a> in <a title=\"United States presidential election, 2008\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_presidential_election,_2008\">2008<\/a>,\u00a0and <a title=\"Mitt Romney\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mitt_Romney\">Mitt Romney<\/a> in <a title=\"United States presidential election, 2012\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_presidential_election,_2012\">2012<\/a>. <em>\u00a0(Arguably showing an editorial stance best called &#8220;&#8216;flexibly centrist&#8217;\u00a0with a <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Populist\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Populist\">populist<\/a> streak.&#8221;)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/thumb\/7\/77\/Ford_to_City.PNG\/175px-Ford_to_City.PNG\" width=\"124\" height=\"176\" \/>Briefly, the\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Daily_News_(New_York)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">Daily News<\/a>\u00a0compared certain before-and-after &#8220;expert predictions&#8221; about Trump. <em>\u00a0(The paper used the front page at right in 1975, about then-president Ford.)<\/em> \u00a0The first predictions were made in January, and the second set came after Trump&#8217;s first 100 days in office.<\/p>\n<p>In January the four experts said &#8211; ahead of the inauguration &#8211; that Trump had &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/politics\/trump-set-impeachment-article-1.2950501\" target=\"_blank\">set himself for potential impeachment<\/a>.&#8221; \u00a0<strong><em>After<\/em><\/strong> those first 100 days, the predictions got worse: \u00a0&#8220;The trouble Trump took to the White House has only deepened or expanded in his short tenure&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But heck, I was saying that back on Election Day. <em>\u00a0(November 8, 2016, in case you forgot.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On the morning of November 8 &#8211; when everyone and his brother were predicting Hillary Clinton would be the next president &#8211; I prepared some notes, &#8220;Just in case Trump gets elected.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It&#8217;s simple math.<\/p>\n<p>Half the country already hates him &#8211; and what he seems to stand for. \u00a0On the other hand, a large majority of people willing to vote for him simply and sincerely believe that &#8220;Washington&#8221; is broken and needs to be shaken up. \u00a0Or they simply can&#8217;t stand Hillary&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That last was based on an observation that 51 percent of Trump backers &#8220;mainly oppose Clinton, rather than supporting him.\u201d \u00a0That in turn was from the online article,\u00a0<a class=\"feed_link\" href=\"https:\/\/politicalwire.com\/2016\/11\/06\/clinton-continues-expand-national-lead\/\" target=\"_blank\">Clinton Continues to Expand National Lead<\/a>, posted early on the morning of November 6, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-8UqfW5KtgPQ\/T3lBd5-kRdI\/AAAAAAAABo4\/w7JeaqPPdkQ\/s1600\/Nightmare+Wallpapers.jpg\" width=\"175\" height=\"131\" \/>Which brings up the fact that I have that\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/1996-10-27\/opinion\/op-58345_1_american-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">Paranoid Streak<\/a>\u00a0shared by many Americans. \u00a0Which is another way of saying that in the months leading up to Election Day, I had many a sleepless night,\u00a0in large part based on the\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nightmare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">nightmare<\/a>\u00a0that Trump might actually end up getting elected&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"hac\"><em>(That is, on many a sleepless night leading up to the election, I would wake up and have to check the latest online posts, just to make sure the polls still showed that a Responsible Adult would be the next president, <strong>not<\/strong> Donald Trump&#8230;) \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But he did get elected &#8211; I still don&#8217;t know how &#8211; and the &#8220;horror&#8221; turned out to be not as bad as expected. <em>\u00a0(Or as those great philosophers\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"http:\/\/www.songfacts.com\/detail.php?id=3004\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">Crosby, Stills &amp; Nash<\/a>\u00a0once said, &#8220;You will survive being bested&#8230;) \u00a0<\/em>One of the\u00a0reasons for that includes but is not limited to the fact that the &#8220;<a class=\"find\" href=\"http:\/\/www.virginialawreview.org\/volumes\/content\/we-people-original-meaning-popular-sovereignty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">Sovereign People<\/a>&#8221; seem to be finally coming to their senses, when it comes to &#8220;the Donald.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>But we digress&#8230; \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was writing about a prediction &#8211; back on Election Day &#8211; that even if Trump did get elected, he probably wouldn&#8217;t serve a full term. \u00a0Then &#8211; based on a\u00a0poll in February &#8211; I added this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If Trump turns out to be as bad as people expect &#8211; based on how he presented himself, both in his campaigns and in office &#8211; fully 75% of the country could be strongly against him by the time of the mid-term elections in 2018. \u00a0Which could turn out to be a single-issue race.<\/p>\n<p>For example, challengers for Congressional office could be elected based on the simple vow: &#8220;I <strong><em>will<\/em> <\/strong>vote to impeach Donald.&#8221; <em>\u00a0(Or convict him, in races for the Senate.)<\/em> \u00a0So in simple self-defense &#8211; or more precisely, in hopes of keeping their jobs &#8211; those Members already in office will &#8220;do a preemptive:&#8221; \u00a0Move to impeach and convict before the election.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>(The\u00a0poll in question was titled\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/nation-tracker-poll-does-trump-support-have-a-ceiling-or-a-floor\/\" target=\"_blank\">Does Trump\u2019s support have a ceiling \u2014 or a floor<\/a>?)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>All of which seems to be coming true. \u00a0See for example this from May 10,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aol.com\/article\/news\/2017\/05\/10\/poll-trumps-approval-rating-sinks-near-new-record-low-base-support-shrinks\/22080335\/\" target=\"_blank\">Poll: Trump&#8217;s approval rating sinks, near new record low as base support shrinks<\/a>, which noted that &#8221;\u00a0just 36 percent of registered voters approve of the president&#8217;s job, with 56 percent saying they disapprove.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And by the way: \u00a0Speaking of the\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/04\/05\/politics\/trump-associates-russians-meetings\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">Russian connection<\/a>, whatever happened to\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boris_Epshteyn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">Boris Epshteyn<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<a class=\"find\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boris_Epshteyn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"f:url\">Wikipedia<\/a>, Epshteyn\u00a0served as the &#8220;Assistant Communications Director for Surrogate Operations&#8221;
